Youthlink is a state-wide mental health program managed through the North Metropolitan Area Mental Health Service. YouthLink provides specialist mental health counselling, consultation, training and community development. We focus on enhancing the mental health and well being of young people that are marginalised and disadvantaged, particularly those who are experiencing insecure accommodation.
YouthLink assists young people, aged 13-24 years of age, who experience difficulties with their emotional or social well-being. We are a free and confidential counselling service, with experienced support workers who are friendly, non-judgemental and understanding. We can arrange free interpreting to help with communication, and if necessary, we can come to you.
We respect diverse cultures, gender, sexuality, and disability. Some examples of the emotional and social health issues that we can help with include: trauma experiences, grief and loss, thoughts of hurting yourself, stress, alcohol or drug use, anger and aggression, self-confidence, and problematic relationships. In addition, we can help you make contact with other helpful services, we can help you find ways to negotiate and communicate with your family or other people, and we can advocate for you.
We are open Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm, and are located at 223 James Street Northbridge, Western Australia. If you are thinking of talking to us then please call the Intake Officer on 1300 362 569. You can also ask an adult that you trust to call us on your behalf. Please let us know if you want us to organise a telephone interpreter in your language.

All the providers at Youthlink are incredible. They are super educated on sexuality and gender identity. With previous mental health professionals, I've had to spend entire sessions explaining my gender. With Craig at Youthlink, I've been able to focus on addressing my mental health issues in a safe environment where I know that I won't be judged or have to explain myself. They are also great at helping with finding accommodation and liaising with other services to help you with whatever you need. They go above and beyond.
